We just got quotes on the final steps of electrifying our new home and getting off gas.
It is crazy how cheap it is to do in Victoria at the moment.
Replacing our gas hot water service with a 300L electric tank will cost us $900! Replacing our ducted gas with a four head unit RCAC is under $6k!

Have been doing home energy assessments and every time I see a home with RCAC and no insulation or shade I want to cry…. Let alone when household says they don’t turn the AC on, cause they can’t afford it.

Air conditioning is no longer a luxury. Governments must subsidise/fund RCAC for those who are socially/economically disadvantaged and incentivise landlords now as an extension of the all electrification - ideally in tandem with solar PV when possible.
