#readymeals
And once again I’m out before my appointment time. Plus side, my blood looked a little darker this time compares to last months. I guess switching from almost exclusively readymeals for my evening meals to eating a lot of vegetarian options is helping my body 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I just need more options 😂😂
How is it that last time I got bloods I only just made it in time but this time I’ve arrived 30min too early & with 10min to go I’ve run out of things to do 🙃 Blooming anxiety! I’m now stood outside trying to cool down as my face is burning up. I guess I need to get a new moisturiser again 🙄

We keep a bag of breaded cutlets in our freezer to assemble with a couple basic ingredients for strugglemeals a degree above store readymeals

All voters should be lobbying MPs to INSIST any trade deal demands we print Country Of Origin on ALL foodstuffs including readymeals
When I was there, I thought USA food was the worst I'd had.

I’m apparently pre-diabetic so I’m cutting out Lucozade & Guinness 0.0, ice-cream (once the mini-milks in the freeze have gone), sweets of every variety and I’m going to start transitioning fully from readymeals to home cooked stuff. Exercise will start when the kids are back & it’s cooler 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I'm gluten intolerant and get it sized up for me with Freefrom readymeals from Sainsburys!
My sister says I shouldn't eat it with chips too!
I don't care. 😇

In the UK horsemeat scandal it had disappeared into frozen readymeals including some of the major brands.

And “I’m choosing not to care that the readymeals I get have fresh herbs on them, it’s probably fine”

Restaurants specialise in one cuisine because it means they can concentrate on doing fewer things, well.

If you want huge variety then you can go to the readymeals aisle of the supermarket.

They did do that at one point. Production couldn't keep up. they sourced readymeals. Which overheated in commercial cookers and 1 kid had serious burns from food spilling on him.
They have 2 weeks of recipes that are rotated. All look beige and are indistinguishable from each other. Total shit show

When “new“Holloway Prison was designed it included a domestic science teaching facility because it was recognised that many women shoplifted because they didn’t know how to use cheap fresh materials & couldn’t afford readymeals
Ps that was working well till Osborne shut it down for development
I don't know if they even still teach domestic science in schools anymore.
But I have neighbours who never ever cook and I do mean never

It’s not just the money it’s time & training
My mum didn’t go out to work but shopped locally almost every day & had time to cook from fresh
Her repertoire would look limited by present standards but I’d say she was a good cook
Few people had fridges & readymeals consisted of tinned spaghetti 🤔
ultra-processed food is actually shaping inequality. Low wages drive reliance on cheap calories. People literally cannot afford to buy fresh foods when their wages, after paying high rents and high childcare costs, have nothing left over to provide for food budgets which are nourishing

I'm a rotten cook and gluten intolerant (Coeliac) besides so going out for a meal when I find a catering restaurant is a pleasure, otherwise readymeals.
If you're single you don't want to eat chicken wings every day because they're cheaper in multipacks.
A large freezer is a must have for me.😇
May 24, 2026 at 11:02 AM
As a Coeliac I already pay more than 20% on my shopping and being old, rely on readymeals more.
I would be very angry if I was forced, at the till to have any offers on products to be taken off.

TMA 02 for #A276 is about the Vestal Virgins. All I can keep thinking about is the Vesta Readymeals from my childhood! 🙄

Was in Carlisle yesterday. The castle does NOTHING to repel the Scots. :D

It was lovely to hear the Scottish accent. And M&S had haggis readymeals

#Homecooking is possible & #efficient for #smallhouseholds of 1 or 2

A #familysize #meal is #batchcooking for 1 or 2, simply #refrigerate in #containers or #plateup ready, & #homemade #readymeals are nicer & #cheaper than #supermarket ready #meals

A #jointofmeat is cheaper than #individualportions
There's questions of inequality - housework falling more on women for instance,

Then there's the socialist/ radical critique: as family sizes get smaller, does a 'household model' of food prep even make sense anymore? It is efficient, or just?
