COMUNICADO RedTraSex Fundación Margen Alcalde Chileno Estigmatiza el Trabajo Sexual Criminalizar no es Gobernar Desde la Secretaría Ejecutiva de la Red de Mujeres Trabajadoras Sexuales de Latinoamérica y el Caribe (RedTraSex), expresamos nuestro rechazo a las declaraciones de **Mario Desbordes**, alcalde de la comuna de Santiago de Chile, quien en un vídeo difundido públicamente vía redes, reproduce discursos estigmatizantes y violentos contra las trabajadoras sexuales. Con tono punitivo y autoritario, **este funcionario público asocia el trabajo sexual con la trata de personas**, una confusión gravísima que solo contribuye a la desinformación. Confundir el trabajo sexual con trata, invisibiliza la voz de miles de mujeres que ejercemos esta actividad por decisión propia en Chile y en la región y no permite el combate real contra la trata y la explotación. Sus declaraciones refuerzan la criminalización del trabajo sexual y de quienes nos contratan, promoviendo el aumento de la vigilancia sobre nuestros cuerpos y lugares de trabajo. **Además, apela a un lenguaje que no solo es ofensivo: es una forma clara de violencia institucional**. Ni somos criminales, ni "ensuciamos" el espacio público. **Este tipo de discursos, cargados de estigmas, desconocimiento y violencia simbólica, no son solo erróneos: son peligrosos**. Reflejan una profunda ignorancia sobre la realidad del trabajo sexual y promueven una visión punitiva que vulnera y expone a miles de mujeres en toda la región. **Cuando provienen de quienes ocupan cargos de decisión, se convierten en un obstáculo** concreto para la construcción de políticas públicas basadas en derechos humanos, evidencia y diálogo.
