Good programmers say that assert is not a JS keyword and that I should throw an exception instead.

Spent 4-5 hours hunting down a nasty reanimated bug. I suspect Metro is stripping files away. I tried adding it to the sideEffects but wasn't successful. 3.16.2 breaks for me on web. For now, I posted a workaround: github.com/software-man... until its resolved. Hope this saves you some time
