The outright rejection of every moral code, be it kindergarten morality, or religious teachings, or basic social mores, or the most complex philosophical texts, is precisely what they say it is: a rejection of what makes us human
I think it’s worth taking seriously that not just the ‘fringes’ but the political and corporate establishment are endorsing concepts like ‘suicidal empathy’, which are pretty much just explicit declarations of intent to harm and do evil
Faced with a potential blue wave in this week's midterm elections, the most internet-poisoned MAGA influencers have begin identifying with Anakin Skywalker, a genocidal archvillain from a space opera. And some of them actually seem to think it could turn the tide.

…and the rejection doesn’t even need to be a real thing that actually happened on our earth for some to do this 🤷🏻‍♀️
The thing is, a lot of white women understandably and loudly disgusted by Haley Stevens have acted JUST LIKE Haley Stevens when they’ve been rejected by people of color in their lives. She’s following a familiar script and a lot of y’all know the lines too.

This kind of election rejection only gains traction if the margins are close and they can find a way to chip away at a Democratic lead.

This is why it's key that Democrats don't just win, but win big
Ken Paxton: "There are definitely some examples of felons voting we believe in Harris County ... we'll be pursuing this. It won't be resolved by the time the election is over."

When you’ve even lost Thomas and Alito with a terrible, unanimous rejection, somebody smells like a loser.

Two: some people experienced the “Trump vibe shift” of early 2025 as, my dreams are coming true, everyone has to love and fear and respect me now. Didn’t happen obviously. This infantile “you’re pushing me to the dark side” stuff is just a way to deal with a sense of rejection should dems do well

NOONAN: “.. I believe a big, big wave is coming .. This is what I hope for: that it won’t be a close election, that the outcome is unmistakable. Let it be a clear and obvious rebuke—a rejection, a rebellion, a rout.”

looooooool this is the most brutal rejection a state Democratic party can do
November 2, 2026 at 1:21 AM
this claim that Dem wins don’t count as Dem wins because they are driven in part by voter dislike of Republicans is bizarre and unique, or nearly so, in American history.

Outparties do not defeat popular governing parties. Every change in power involves rejection of incumbents.
I also challenge this idea that if Dems win big, it'll be less a "blue wave" than just Republicans staying home. I note that D candidates are winning indys/driving voter enthusiasm (@gelliottmorris.com good on this too).

Charlie Cook engages on this at some length:

I waited 2 more weeks to get this rejection after satisfying them on some minor technicalities, it's so tiring

i think google could actually choose to interpret the rejection of ai in good faith instead of insane bad faith
if you see this article — Google "shutting off" Google search for schools that reject AI — note that it's just how Google search works

Google search is Gemini. If you shut off Gemini, there simply is no search either

it's not punitive, not nefarious, just how it is

Google Will Turn Off Search for Schools That Reject A.I. (Gift Article)
Google is making it easier to restrict its A.I. tools for students. But schools that block A.I. entirely will lose student access to Google’s search engine.

She cited a rejection from the El-Sayed campaign in her video confirming her endorsement for Rogers. This perceived rejection can trigger a behavior pattern known as "splitting", which might be what we're all witnessing.

Tbh people talk about Trump as a rejection of neoliberalism in a bunch of ways but I think the biggest is the rejection of the depersonalization/professionalization of economic decisionmaking.
bit of tongue-in-cheek work from @cameroncorduroy.bsky.social on how, despite decades of republicans screaming about "socialism!!!," under trump they have embraced all the worst aspects of communism in practice: the leader cults, the corruption, the cronyism and stupidity
Vote Democratic to Fight Socialism
A spectre is haunting America, and we must exorcise it.

Believe me, I completely understand not wanting to send out several hundred individual rejection letters. But replying to submissions is like the bare minimum.

Turns out Election Day is also Rejection Day, for a short story. I demand a recount!

My only tip to Dem comms is to constantly use " "historic", "mandate", "rejection" and "unprecedented" regardless of the outcome.
November 3, 2026 at 12:34 AM
Also, people who are "not a politician" are often people not equipped to handle the pressure and mass rejection that comes with politics.

Effective politicians are usually able to maintain some level of psychological separation between their personal and public personas.
I don’t really think “not a politician” should be a selling point for a candidate. The job is politician. I want to elect someone who understands that job and is good at it and also is not a dirtbag. We have seen how catastrophic it is to make “not a politician” the priority over “not a dirtbag.”

Another rejection this morning. Kindly worded, of course. I’ve made into the kindly worded rejection realm.

The rejection of ERIC by GOP officials has, ironically, undermined their own voting systems.
