I somehow managed to post this without using #sciart tags.

Like a Tuatara, a rhynchosaur might have looked like a typical large-headed lizard. Here are two sets of illustrations, the top showing a rhynchosaur, the bottom a dicynodont.

I applied the same models for fleshy and beaked to both, and found them to a different model from each other.

Left wins.

The large rhynchosaur Brasinorhynchus mariantensis from Middle Triassic South America. For my book (in preparation)
.
You can see another rhynchosaur species I did for my book if you become a patron in the Deinonychus or upper tiers

It’s amazing what you’ll find face to face

Here are some examples (from top to bottom): a Rhynchosaur (Hyperodapedon), a Dicynodont (Myosaurus), a Thalattosaur (Hescheleria) and a cynodont (Diademodon)

New hyperodapedontine rhynchosaur from Brazil. Its distinct craniodental anatomy suggests a different method of feeding from other rhynchosaurs.

I was fortunate enough to be commissioned to illustrate many extinct tetrapods in 2023. Two highlights are the new rhynchosaur Beesiiwo cooowuse (from Late Triassic North America) and the stem pinniped Potamotherium from Miocene North America and Europe

I recognized that this rhynchosaur was very similar to your artwork, and I'm very happy to know that you're involved in this series.

Love how this rhynchosaur is so clearly coming in for a hug.
Birmingham is built on the Triassic and our main logo for this year's conference features a Triassic reptile, a rhynchosaur, first described by Richard Owen in 1842 from Shropshire, just west of Birmingham.

We will be running two Triassic field trips this year, although both are now sold out

Stomach contents from the phytosaur Parasuchus include the archosauromorph Malerisaurus and a partial rhynchosaur. This shows that even slender-snouted phytosaurs could prey on animals aside from fish.

I recently teamed up with Dino and Dog (www.myminifactory.com/users/Dino%2...) to make a 3D printable model of the rhynchosaur Fodonyx that I named way back in 2008. Nikola has done an amazing job and made some awesome renditions of it, including some showing speculative burrowing behaviours!

Just in time for the weekend: this new skull fills a big gap in the formation of the bulldog-like🐶 rhynchosaur skull, which we also use as an excuse to review all of rhynchosaur skull evolution!
Another Triassic weirdo off my bucket list✅
