Saddening & enraging in equal measures.
“You’re terminated because…?”

Fired federal employees are telling their stories—no deep state, just career public servants tossed aside.

DOGE’s mass firings aren’t about efficiency—they’re gutting expertise, wrecking lives, and calling it “reform.”

i don’t care who you vote for, but the blatant anti-blackness from some people is saddening, disappointing, yet not surprising…

This is painful, and saddening, and embarrassing. I feel like we're losing a member of the family - and for no good reason other than that some Americans wanted another season of the worst reality TV show in history.
Carney: "The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation is over."

It is truly saddening how easily Border Patrol and ICE agents have slipped into their new Gestapo role.

this is infuriating, saddening, and incredibly well-reported by radley
New from me:

Elite law firms, multiple media outlets, the D.C. attorney general, and a group of parents accused a teacher of molesting 15 kids. They were wrong.

This piece is two-and-a-half years in the making. And as you'll see, it took some incredible turns, even as I was reporting it.
Accusing Jordan Silverman
A D.C. teaching assistant was accused of molesting up to 15 kids. Multiple law enforcement agencies cleared him. But his nightmare was just beginning.

The amount of artists who are nonstop defending this OBVIOUS fascist shit is extremely saddening.
This is one of the saddest things I’ve ever read in my life

This is so fucking saddening
Mystery solved:

Analog, like Azimov's and F&SF, was recently acquired by a predatory acquisitions company called (cue the Irony Bell) "Must Read Magazines."

MRM is revising their "terms" so as to acquire as many IP rights as they can gank.

Fuck 'em. Boycott.

The fact WB passed on a wacky races anime by the Pop Team Epic people is immensely saddening to me.

Some of us have screamed about Trump's corruption since 2015. It's profoundly saddening that it took many millions of us 10+ years to listen.

what’s saddening about it?
I’m saddened by the news of Senator Graham’s passing this morning. It comes as a real shock. I’m grateful I had the chance to work with Lindsey, including several international trips working on foreign policy. 1/2

For those unaware, Nick Floyd is the literal creator of the DanDan format. Finding out that WotC did not so much as reach out to him is saddening, to say the least.
I'm sure that the DanDan secret lair is an interesting project & I'm sure that the people who worked on it did a great job because, well, they're great at what they do but I am simply saddened by the lack of any involvement/acknowledgement of Nick Floyd (so far anyways)

It's profoundly saddening to read that AP will no longer be assigning or running book reviews because readers don't engage with them enough and they take too much effort to plan and assign. People complain about critics as gatekeepers; wait until all that's left is marketing.

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

The destruction and ruination of our public lands is so saddening. We are going to end up with sinkholes in these areas due to fracking.
