Some optimism for 🇺🇸 US #SciencePolicy? In this economy?! YES.

Here’s a great piece by Rebecca Trager in @chemistryworld.com on how the scientific community is reacting to this week’s election results. I was also fortunate to share a reaction within it. 🧪

Scientists and policy experts celebrate US midterm results as a turning point for research
Both chambers of Congress will now be Democrat-led and many in the research community hope the worst of the damage caused by the Trump administration is over

🇺🇸 It's Midterm Election Day, so go vote like science depends on it...because it does! 🇺🇸

Today, we can take an important step toward revitalizing evidence-based #SciencePolicy & support for research innovation in the US.

Science is vital to society. But don't take my word for it. Take George's!

A few weeks ago, we completed our program with the Smith Fellows in DC and brought in science policy experts to share their experiences with the fellows. The fellows ended the day feeling more confident about their policy meetings. This is what it's all about!

Heck yes, I hope so, too! Honestly, the @snapcoalition.org has been doing a lot of different things to try to make sure this happens. One of the recent projects was a competition to give funding new #SciencePolicy student orgs, to try to get more people involved in local clubs to engage with policy.
