The news comes from Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, which confirmed in its fiscal 2026 financial results that the project has been discontinued. Digital Bros listed Armed Fantasia alongside Directorate: Novitiate and a sequel to Battle Islands as projects that were cancelled following a review of their development progress, market prospects, and the additional investment that would have been required to bring them to market.

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the upcoming action-soulslike sequel from Team Ninja (Nier, Ninja Gaiden), will be released on March 4, 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S (including day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate), and Nintendo Switch 2.
