Photograph taken looking up at a line of three wall-mounted bells (the line was more extensive than three!) in the servants' quarters at the wonderful Dudmaston Hall in Shropshire. Below each bell is a label - Alcove Room, Dining Room, Mr W. W. Whitmore's Bedroom. Each bell sits on an almost small letter 'e' to aid its movement and ability to make the clanger bit sound when rung. Fascinating shadows are cast on the antique-white walls behind.
