We have had several posts and shared a lot of information about our artwork at Wildwood Park; but, one thing we didn't share is that we received first place from the Guest Evaluator Shawn Williams! Last Friday evening we attended the Artist's Reception where this announcement was made and on Sunday a first place ribbon was delivered to our site. We're so honored and happy to receive this recognition!! Two other pieces of information yet to be shared are the answer to our most asked question on Sunday... "How long / How many hours did it take to complete this?" We spent some time crunching the numbers earlier this week and total working time was about 21.5 hours. The other is we've completed the entire time lapse recording sequence from blank site to completed art installation in about 5 minutes with is available to be viewed at: https://youtu.be/iFP-lhQ2iVY Artist's Statement / Backstory: Each year I revisit the goals, mission, values, vision, and other documents to ensure they align with what's been accomplished and where the business will be going. In early 2025 I wrote the goal: "WIN AN AWARD!" [in all caps just like you see it here]. I knew writing the goal would be a lot easier than completing it; but, here we are! I was absolutely shocked when the slideshow concluded with the slide you're seeing as today's image! You're still able to see our creation and the other eighteen installations through the end of September and vote for your favorite through mid-September!

Yesterday was our 'official' maintenance / site clean-up for Art In the Wild 2026 which means the exhibition is almost half-way through for this year! It definitely seems like we were just trekking there in the cold when everything was still brown; but, the air is much warmer and everything is now green! If you're looking to take an walk/hike to see our installation, you need to head to Wildwood Park located at 100 Wildwood Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110! We're located at Site #9: "Tree[house] Pose;" which is almost smack-dab in the center of things on the Wildwood Lake side of Wildwood Way Trail! If you can't make it out in person you can check out the video in the Visitor's Center, which was created by students from CASA, or check it out from the comfort of your favorite spot @ https://youtu.be/drDotsFiqaY?si=wO_ZFxXBIIr45B0m One more friendly reminder is to vote for your favorite installation for 2026 @ https://woobox.com/4bn5xc Thanks to everyone who has already visited and shared their photographs, reactions, and votes! Art in the Wild 2026 will be on-display through the end of September; so, you have time to check it out and tag us / share with us your visit!

Snowy Site #13 Stop - There's snow on the ground; but, that just made it more of an adventure! We recently trekked our way around Wildwood Park to visit Site #13 which will be the home of our 2026 Art in the Wild Installation! Earlier this month, we were informed our proposal for this year's theme of 'Balance' was accepted and soon we'll need to get to work creating our installation! The kick-off meeting occurs this Saturday and then work will begin! There is just a little over three weeks of work-time from the meeting to when the installation must be completed; so, please put in a good word with the weather for us! The snow won't be our friend to bring our vision to life; but, it will probably melt soon enough and then we can get going!!

Happy Earth Day! It was easy to know exactly which artwork we'd feature in honor of Earth Day; so, here's the official post for "Tree[house] Pose" our 2026 Art In The Wild Installation! There's no shortage of natural materials utilized in this piece, many of which were leftovers from other projects and/or things that were repurposed to create this artwork. Our installation features oak boards [previously skids], bamboo [grown by our neighbors], raffia, bittersweet vine [from a few short steps away from our installation], and trees, branches, roots, and natural materials from within the Park. You can find our installation at Site #9 at Wildwood Park [100 Wildwood Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110]. Site #9 is almost smack-dab in the center of things on the Wildwood Lake side of Wildwood Way Trail! Artist's Statement / Backstory: When the theme was announced as 'Balance' for 2026, I immediately thought of tree pose from yoga as a position that focuses on and requires balance. Additionally, when I removed my 2025 installation there were bird, bug, and insect nests and materials throughout the orbs. These critters and creatures found ways to make homes in the art installation; wouldn't it be all the more amazing to design homes for them? The goal was to combine these two notions; so, overall humanoid figure is 'balancing' in tree pose featuring a head which is a bug/insect house, with a neck that is similar to the orbs from last year, and a body which is four separate birdhouses [one is home to some wrens]. With five months to visit please do; continue sharing your photos and tagging us as we love to see you enjoying our installation as well as all the critters it was designed for...

Hopefully you've recently walked past on your own or have been checking in on YouTube to follow our progress toward creating the site-specific original artwork: "Our Thoughts Can Change the World" part of the 'Pathways' Exhibit of Art in the Wild at Wildwood Park. If not, let this be your friendly reminder to head over to our YouTube @craigscanvases where you can view a time lapse recording of each day we've spent working on-site! It's pretty amazing how it goes from flat ground to where we are at now in about three minutes! If you're out and about and want to see if for yourself there is a small green marker that indicates each site number; we're *temporarily* Site #15, almost smack-dab in the center of things on the Wildwood Lake side of Wildwood Way Trail!! Thus far we've spent six days on-site and will be back for more in the very near future! We might be on-site working when you visit; so, feel free to stop and say hello! If we aren't, we encourage you to take photos and videos for yourself and then tag us for everyone to see!
