Colton Herta accelerates after exiting the last corner of a lap at Portland international raceway. His car, the number 26 Cambridge Honda, is mostly black with yellow trim and a few blue highlights up front. The car is in focus, but the wheels and background are blurry due to the slow shutter speed. The chain link fence between the camera and the car is spread out to make it almost invisible.

The Pentax 17 is possibly the only camera you’ll ever need - at our Son’s wedding last year I used it for some casual snaps as we waited around - flash for a bit of fill in on a dull morning - and in the evening for some slow shutter flash fun …

Shutter Speed: Controls how long the camera sensor is exposed to light.
Fast speeds (like 1/1000s) freeze fast-moving action like sports.
Slow speeds (like 2 seconds) create artistic motion blur, such as silky waterfalls or light trails.

September favorites. I've been trying slow shutter speeds (hummingbird at 1/50s), enjoying residents (phoebe) & vagrants (waterthrush) and finally got a darn wrentit to sit still long enough for a photo (it's been a struggle). 🪶 #BirdOfTheDay

Rowers On the River Charles
Annual rowing race (apparently the biggest in the world) takes place two weeks from now in Boston/Cambridge (depending on which side of the river you're on).

Ikr this is still the best camera I've ever had on a phone, although the shutter speed is a little slow now and the zoom and focus quality up to 5x has gotten worse in the last year or so. As long as it's sort of close I suppose it's ok ;;

Tbh I prob should use it more than I do xD

Waterfall and interesting rock formations...

I've been toying with the idea of getting one to experiment with light painting... But, alas, I no longer live in a place with a nearly absolutely dark backyard, so slow shutter/long exposure work is probably not going to happen.
