Public Christmas trees get smaller and the lights on them are both cheaper and sparser.
This makes me wonder: what is the strangest recession indicator that you are sure of?

The most obscure thing that you're *sure* is a recession indicator, something which you don't hear basically anyone else mention?

Recession indicator: FromScratchBaker's been making lots of Great Depression style bakes with limited ingredients.

I just took a peek over there and while there's definitely some LA fires posts, it's far sparser (at least on my timeline) than what I'm seeing here.
I really appreciate everyone trying to share up to date and accurate information about the LA fires, but man does tonight illustrate on a personal level just what we lost with the total destruction of twitter and the real-time disaster community there

An Oxytrigona cagafogo fire bee launches from her nest in subtropical Brazil.

When I took this photo in 2012, the resources available for species IDs were sparser than now, and I often left images unprocessed if I couldn’t figure it out.

Turns out I’ve got buried treasures!

Lions in natural habitat have much sparser fur and the bunching is a lot less pronounced. Unless the animal gets wet. Then hairs stick together and markings are clear.

The other angle refs for the badger paws are tricky for details because dark fur + most clear shots are rescued cubs with sparser fur rather than adults 🦡

do a bunch of states with sparser populations get disproportionate representation in the senate? YES THEY DO.

but there is no state* so blue that you aren't looking at 30-45% of your neighbors choosing the other side.

*if we gave DC statehood they might qualify AND THAT'S WHY THIS IS HAPPENING
