I started using BBC Alba's SpeakGaelic course at the suggestion of someone on here for a Du*Lingo alternative that doesn't use genAI, and for some reason I'm so offended that they anglicize Anna as Anne.

Even better when their own online dictionary doesn't give the word+definition that their course uses, but DOES give the word+definition you knew already, that it didn't accept

Each book is £20+shipping, hence hesitation. They're also large and heavy-a factor when travelling back
Gàidhlig textbooks are still uncommon so there's not really many other options, but I'm familiar with SpeakGaelic and the course and know for sure it's actually good and worth it

I would like to continue my studies, but I can't afford the textbooks, so will have to stick with practice and online materials for the time being. Unless anyone knows a rich benefactor who wants to support students of the Gàidhlig language. Looking at the A2/B1 textbooks here:

365 Days of #ScottishGaelic learning with a little #IrishGaeilge sprinkled in there for good measure. It’s wild it’s been a year of learning! I also use the #SpeakGaelic videos as well. I feel like I’m getting this for sure.
