This is kind of using this as a springboard, but frankly a lot of old standby Hollywood/blockbuster story tropes and frameworks just no longer seem like they meet the moment of our current reality
A bit of a hot take. I don't know if the James Bond franchise can be modernized anymore. The Craig movies were a good attempt at bringing Bond to the 21st century, but now not only the idea of James Bond is very antiquated, his "style" of espionage is also impossible in our era.
