Debbie O’Neill to depart Jules Verne after 36 years
Jules Verne Managing Director Debbie O'Neill is stepping down after more than three decades.
Debbie's next move has not yet been announced but she said on LinkedIn she was beginning a 'new chapter' in the travel industry.
She first joined Jules Verne as General Manager in 1990, becoming MD in 2023, after stints at Ian Allen Travel and Pegasus Holidays as Sales Consultant.
Debbie's departure comes amid a series of leadership and structural changes at Jules Verne parent company DERTOUR UK.
Earlier this summer, DERTOUR UK joint CEO Francis Torrilla announced his retirement, while Mark Duguid stepped down at DERTOUR UK brand Kuoni as UK Managing Director, with DERTOUR UK joint CEO Ben Boesch assuming responsibility for both roles.
Kuoni UK has also ended its partner store programme following a strategic review of its distribution and sales and closed its nine John Lewis concessions and one pop-up store.

A lot of people work at various institutions and don’t want to have to relocate their family or children. I grew up with a father who did week to months long stints like this back and forth to Mumbai, India. It isn’t as uncommon as people think. People have complex lives affect by Brexit.

Day 1 summary: almost 34miles walked, 1.75 of that due to an enforced detour north of Cas. The highlight was, again, seeing ancient features plain in the landscape - such the Roman Ridge. The lowlight was the detour. The paths were generally good (though I did long stints on roads).

Former (two-time) world road champ Giorgia Bronzini, who has spent the last several years as a sports director for a number of different teams in the pro peloton, will join Visma-Lease a Bike in that capacity next year. The 43-year-old Italian worked with Human Powered Health this season after DS stints at Trek-Segafredo and Liv.
"Giorgia will be dedicated to working with our younger riders, particularly on their tactical development and understanding of how to read a race," said Visma women's team boss Rutger Tijssen. "She also wants to help us to take the combination of performance and racing a step further. That way of thinking is something we value highly within our team, and especially with younger riders, there is still a lot to gain by bringing the two even more together."
