One of the unexpected treats of Ohio was a cup of Young's Cookies and Cream at the USAF Museum. It was so good, easily Tillamook level. (IYKYK)

P-63 Kingcobras after WWII were used by the US Navy to test low-speed handling and stall characteristics of swept wings. The result is this Bell L-39 with 35° sweep from 1946.

The test results went into the design of the F-86 Sabre and B-47 Stratojet.

On December 17, 1947, the B-47 Stratojet made its first flight.
The first swept-wing bomber in the US Air Force, 2,042 were built. Led to the development of both the B-52 and the 707 jetliner.
