Not even MAGA, it’s survivalist hell. They’re crazy!

Did a Costco run this morning, and I think I’ve turned into a Survivalist by mistake

i think this battery technology is very useful for survivalist scenarios. you can keep the electrolyte, water, and manganese dioxide as separate chemicals, then assemble them into a cell when you need electrical power.

For the midterms, let's remind ourselves of Ye Olde American Spirit; more than just a meme, Sydney Pollack's 1972 survivalist epic Jeremiah Johnson endures due to a revisionist attitude to Native Americans + Robert Redford's firm commitment to his role. 4 out of 5.

Overhearing two slightly inebriated businessmen discussing their survivalist plans and...let's just say they are not one bit prepared.

Your freeze dried bucket of survivalist rations does not contain "delicious recipes".

I think people also underrate the extent to which the skills necessary to thrive in this environment are social and not survivalist or technical. The doomer tech guys and the survivalist gun nuts will have their throats slit in their sleep, the captain of the HS football team will become a warlord.
You will not be the heroic resistance, you will not righteously purge the enemies of the people. You will die of dysentery because the water stopped being safe, you will be shot because they thought you were someone else, or for no reason comprehensible to you at all. You will be collateral damage.
I just think that public daydreaming about political violence betrays an complete lack of understanding of what a civil war is like

a truly childlike naivety

Just the sheer perfunctory survivalist conviviality. It’s universal and heartbreaking.

In my latest video I got to play Survivalist: Invisible Strain, a game that is equal parts jank and neat mechanics.

Glenn Beck pushed Ivermectin back during Covid. Now he's hawking it as a survivalist necessity as he spooks the hell out of his listeners.

It's Armageddon time!

I mean, I used to think it was over the top to store like a survivalist. Now it just seems like common sense to have a few supplies on hand
November 1, 2026 at 2:25 AM
off the grid survivalist types are just people who never wanted to stop being eight years old but are too chickenshit to be a little about it.

I have been sick all week (blah), but I managed to enjoy writing this post for DOOMSDAY MACHINES about Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower, which is one of my favorite examples of the post-apocalyptic road trip genre, and perhaps an exemplar of third-wave feminist Survivalist fiction.

According to Sadscribbles

Farm = survivalist homestead
R/choosingbeggers = farming subreddit
Argue from authority = appeal to authority
Reading books = make you dumb
Trans and intersex people = don’t deserve rights
Obama = the N***** president

What did I miss?

I’ve just learned there’s a survivalist store named “Sergeant Prepper’s,” and nothing will ever be the same.

But hey, at least it sort of proves my theory that Roth would become Lara's "Survivalist" mentor, while Von Croy would be her "Academic/Archeological" mentor one.

Even if Richard being the one making those arrangements makes no sense, even in a "if I die, teach my daughter" kind of way...
