SwiftUI layout containers can take the layout priority of their subviews into account when sizing and arranging them, but its effect depends on the container. In my new post, I compare how stacks and custom layouts use it: nilcoalescing.com/blog/TheRole...

The role of layout priority in SwiftUI containers
Compare how SwiftUI containers apply a view's layout priority, from space allocation in stacks and ZStack sizing to reading the value in custom Layout implementations.

For the past month, I’ve been writing a lot about adapting SwiftUI interfaces for iPhone Duo as I updated my own apps. All the posts, covering toolbars, sheets, ArrangementView, the fold and hinge-driven animations, are collected here: nilcoalescing.com/tags/iphone-...

UPDATE FOR THIS:
Instead of having a repository for practice problems, I will keep them all in a folder in the repository which contains my glossary of terms. This way I can cleanly link code from the practice problems to the glossary.

Most iOS developers never unit test their SwiftUI views. The usual excuse is "they'd be too brittle." That excuse has a fix. https://qualitycoding.org/find-swiftui-views-unit-tests/

SwiftUI swipe actions are no longer limited to List in OS 27. I show how to add them to ScrollView and LazyVGrid layouts, plus how to use presentation state to make the UI more discoverable. Delete, archive, and favorite actions included. youtu.be/Dny7M5jEh8o

Today, I got a little more familiar with frameworks, stacks, and how to stack stacks in stacks so the stacks stack the stacks. Sadly, that sentence makes complete sense to me now. 😆🤣

🎉 I just finished Day 21 of the #100DaysOfSwiftUI at www.hackingwithswift.com/100/swiftui/21 via @twostraws.bsky.social

Lesson: stacks are everything. Want a frosted border? Make a stack. Wanna add depth? Stack. Row of buttons? Stack. Stack your stacks? Stack. 😂

here it is, my new Day 0 of 100 Days of SwiftUI 🙌🏻

https://www.hackingwithswift.com/100/swiftui/0

One thing I learned from today’s lesson is, that a lot of these values shared in the video recorded in 2021!!! still apply to get an iOS dev job today.

🎉 I just finished Day 7 of the #100DaysOfSwiftUI at www.hackingwithswift.com/100/swiftui/7 via @twostraws.bsky.social
It was a long section. Also, in the new version of Xcode, I had to import Foundation at the top of the Playground to use sqrt(), as it doesn't do that automatically anymore.
