k i think asm, C, prolog, and this will be base layer and will load the rest of the operating system like modula-2 style where filename.thotcrime will have code with the systemcalls and directions on how to make what the thing is

there's too many things that rust would never solve and immutability would never intervene with such as systemcalls in the kernel itself - which unsandboxed software has full access to

and the sad reality is that in another ~five years, everything I'm complaining about will be much worse.

The second paper in this session was Joo et al.'s "MimicCall: Bypassing System Call Filters via Kernel Function Redundancy," showing allowed syscalls can still reach vulnerable kernel code. (www.acsac.org/2025/p...) 3/6

thank god this kernel and architecture doesn't have a target audience because for egghead stuff there is really a lot going on here like way more than generally goes on with "k this is the thing that makes systemcalls and you just go into /usr/src and type $ make menuconfig"

and we need to figure out the shitcall routing and where exactly the systemcalls are going to go liek does the code talk to the frame or talk to the placement? WHAT

once you get really into it eventually its like Tom Hanks in the movie Big bcuz all the parts of the system are all in on the conspiracy but not like GCC where the object code that comes out, once linked and executed now has to behave and be regular and shit like use systemcalls for TCP/IP, etc

so with the HBE theres no expectation for it to be normal or conventional, liek in the objective-c code for hbe.m wen it makes same submerged systemcalls to demand GPU compute or syscall to unload wizard-vicuna-7b.hbe and instead load tiny-llama-3b.hbe etc it'll fire them off from the C code+

Proton is about translating systemcalls and graphics api calls. Sounds like your Mac just doesn’t want to have a good time.
