Somehow this slipped by me before, but during the planetarium show, the narrator is talking about the Taurids (Wikipedia: "The Taurids are actually two separate showers, with a Southern and a Northern component.")
But it leaves off on "the two separate"... like Uika and Sakiko...

You could see fireballs starting on September 20th until November 20th! 🌠🧪

Rather than building to a single dramatic night, the Southern Taurids spread their activity out, with the richest viewing most likely around October 14th.

Next month will see the peak of the Taurids meteor shower on 12/13th. Not the greatest of showers but might see a few bright ones. This year the Moon will have an effect. 🔭 🧪

My observation of the peak of the #Orionids meteor shower on 21-22 October 2025. Several other showers were also active. Over 3.5 hours of observing I counted:

Orionids: 15
Northern Taurids: 1
Southern Taurids: 4
Epsilon Geminids: 2
Leonis Minorids: 3
Sporadics: 18

Peak activity of the Southern #Taurids meteor shower is this evening. You could see around 5 per hour from a dark location, although the Moon interferes this year. This shower is worth observing as it displays a higher proportion of brighter meteors and occasional fireballs. #Astronomy
