Bring back laserdisc-sized media but with modern laser technology. You could fit whole franchises or TV series on a single disc.

never expected the Searching for Bobby Fischer and SAW franchises to overlap, but hey if it worked for Fox / Marvel

Which.. okay, fine? 🤷‍♂️ Like in theory the reason RE "franchises" so well is that its only thematic connective tissue is "What's causing this [HORROR MOVIE SCENARIO]? ..Ooh! Turns out there was actually a videogame technology lab full of boss-fights under/adjacent to the [HORROR MOVIE SCENARIO]!"

OK so this is disgusting and upsetting on multiple angles and if they ruin one of my favorite franchises I will be so pissed. But if there is one franchise you would not choose to demonstrate this technology, maybe don’t pick the post apocalyptic setting where an AI killed the planet?

i was thinking about this a few days ago and man, remember the optimism we had that with technology getting better, we thought we'd get more games being made for big franchises, not less?
can't stop thinking about how wrong DoVG's take on the state of Final Fantasy on PS5 from like 2004 is

You see it with TV dramas, superhero franchises and ultimately with technology and AI. It's all just referring back into itself and has lost the cross-pollination and obscure influences.

I love slamming magic, cybernetics, and cosmic horror together.
Especially when you get eldritch beasts.
I want more stuff where technology and black magic are combined.
I know two franchises like that.

Imagine how breathtaking the environments in this game would be with today's technology. Of all Sony's dormant IPs, this one ranks right up there with Ape Escape as franchises that need a comeback.

19. Of all the franchises that are being rebooted for the IP cash grab, Jurassic Park is the dumbest. And probably the most accurate scenario because rich douchebags would definitely try out do each other when it comes to bringing back dinosaurs once the technology exists. Like the current AI shit.

Holy crap y'all, a new .hack game apparently focusing on the "dusk of technology" like how the OG series focused on the "dawn"

Between this and CV it's my year for dormant franchises. What next, more Nier?

They used an AI Dog podcast to promote End of Oak Street. We can't find Bad Robot / JJ Abrams confirming or denying if en-ai was used in the movie. So far only marketing ie this promotional 'podcast'

So, when the Jurassic Park technology was redeveloped between franchises, why didn't the they eliminate the flaw that let them reproduce, as well as making it impossible to metabolize thiamine (I think) from any natural sources?

They could make super-smart color changing dinos, they could fix that.

AI to gauge fan sentiment is about par for the course these days; it's the "dedicated docuseries will chronicle how Treasure AI’s technology is positively shaping the fan experience in real time, giving supporters a look inside the innovation driving both franchises forward" that makes this insane.
