" #Cordyceps #tenuipes " is a large complex of species. Many look quite similar like these I photographed today

Pacific Waterleaf flower (Hydrophyllum tenuipes).
To me it looks like fireworks or maybe something alien.
Have a wonderful day.

Pardosa tenuipes (proxima in Roberts.) Nationally scarce it seems, again not recorded from Syderstone it seems.

New from Nobody Nursery: Hydrophyllum tenuipes (Pacific waterleaf) and Polypodium glycerrhiza (licorice fern)

This shade-loving deciduous ground cover is common in the seasonally wet forests west of the Cascades, and is tolerant of sunny conditions as long as there’s abundant moisture . . .

Hello, I’m a nerd who loves entomopathogenic fungi and hanging out with other nerds!

A bunch of edible mushrooms and an entomopathogen (tiny Cordyceps tenuipes at the bottom)! Edibles are clockwise/spiral from top: white chicken of the woods, cauliflower, yellow chicken, pink and yellow chanterelles, beefsteak, lobsters, yellowfoot mushrooms and the rare and illustrious snow fungus!

Another native plant spotted in Seattle park restoration areas: the Pacific waterleaf (Hydrophyllum tenuipes) has cool cucumber-ish colors and likes the edges of woodsy spots.

So if all " #Cordyceps #tenuipes " look the same, why bother looking at them? Well heres one #zombiehunter Jade pointed out to me today as a bit different. Reminds me of the #Ceratocystis epigloeum #fungi I see on #Tremella fuciformis fungi, which itself eats #Annulohypoxylon & #Hypoxylon fungi.

...from Hydrophyllum tenuipes. In the completed mine, the puparium is hidden on the underside of the leaf, many cm away from the apparent end of the mine, and often on a different leaflet. #flyweek

Quite a treat to encounter some cute little Diptera in vials inadvertently included amongst my Newfoundland and Labrador mayfly vials: these are Nymphomyiids and blepharicerids.

Glass Shrimp (Cuapetes tenuipes) are all over the reef but are hard to photograph due to their transparency and long arms that tend to capture focus. Pretty happy with this brave one that sat with with me for a good long while!

A couple lungworts and a clump of 'Gravetye Giant' summer snowflakes are happily snuggled in to a shady spot otherwise dominated by the native Pacific Waterleaf (Hydrophyllum tenuipes) that grows throughout the woods here. 🌱 #zone8b #PNWNatives
