Coding agents create tests to experiment, explore, and learn. But are these really tests, or should we call them something else? 🤔

Coding Agents Need Experiments. But Should We Call Them Tests?
Coding agents need to experiment, execute code, and validate their work. But are the files they create really tests, and should we treat them that way?

Worth testing on the sites you actually use. Lighter browsers can struggle with heavy JavaScript pages, so a quick check tells you if it fits.

I practiced hyperparameter tuning by comparing different max_depth and n_estimators values. Testing combinations on validation data helped me see that bigger models aren't always better.

No point in Steichen testing out Richardson. He doesn't want to work with the ghost of Jim Irsay anymore, so no reason to try.

I'm pissed
The hospital my partner lives at told him that because he seems in a hurry and agitated at times, the Dr's told him that an adhd evaluation takes a long time so they just randomly put him on adhd meds...WITHOUT FUCKING TESTING HIM FOR IT! I'm gonna fight someone!!!

Blocking RNA–protein interactions significantly reduced SARS-CoV-2 replication in cultured human lung cells. These potential antiviral targets still need testing in animals. doi.org/hcqz8k
RNA-protein interactions could lead to new coronavirus drug targets
A study co-led by a University of California, Riverside, biomedical scientist has identified new targets for coronavirus antiviral drugs, including treatments that may be less vulnerable to the rapid evolution of these viruses.

Just this weekend I was able to achieve an order of magnitude faster performance with simple fixes to esoteric concurrency issues I hadn’t considered. I was also able to fix a bunch of correctness bugs that there’s no way I would have considered. And now I have a harness to avoid regressions.

A virtual printer is a clever way to fit into how people already work. Testing it with a long Word file full of tables would show where formatting breaks.

That mix of customer feedback and rapid testing is practical for smaller teams. AI can make experimentation more accessible, especially when teams define a clear problem and measure whether the change actually helps customers.

The “AI loves cheating” framing is a useful reminder that benchmark scores need context. It’s worth testing not just whether a model gets an answer, but how it handles uncertainty, attribution, and the temptation to pass off unsupported work as its own.

Wonder what those pardons might run, and whether Trump would consider a sliding scale or means-testing the price. 'Cause we know that there has to be **something** in it for Trump.
Trump’s character and the endemic corruption of the administration make this a tissue-paper promise for these criminals to bet their futures on, but it does make the case for pardon reform pretty eloquently.
