The Goliad Battle.

It's not the "gun humpers" slogan in this context. It's what the Texians sent to the Mexican army after the Battle of Gonzales. it has HUGE meaning in Texas. Right up there with "Remember the Alamo."

Probably harsh enough for the people who were doing the work for the Texians, tho

Whoever they were

I think the Texians should remember the Alamo

They're specifically alluding to when the phrase was used in the first battle of the Texas Revolution, the Battle of Gonzales in 1835. The Texians who used the phrase won in that particular instance.

Does he understand that Texas was part of Mexico until 1836?? And the Alamo wasn't courageous Texians against Mexican invaders, it was slave-owning gringos against Mexican army enforcing their ant-slavery laws?

"But he was fighting for Texians' freedom!" Yeah to have slaves in a country that banned slavery.
Davy Crockett went to Texas to fight for the cause of slavery and died doing so. I assume that's why his name has come up today.

Everyone should piss on the Alamo. It should be redesignated a gender neutral restroom.

You misspelled Texians 😂

Texans SHOULD remember the Alamo. That's when the "Texians" who wanted to maintain slavery in the state got their asses whupped.

Saudis speak better English than Texians

We wouldn’t even need to remember the Alamo if the Texians had lived up to their agreement not to bring slaves into the territory.

Yes, the tyranny Texians faced was they were being punished for being slavers after promising they wouldn’t be.

‪Today in 1835, Texian settlers clash with the Mexican Army in the Battle of Gonzales, the beginning of the Texas Revolution. The Texians successfully challenge the Mexican Army to “Come and Take It.”

Hey Texians!
He should def run on this.
September 28, 2026 at 11:04 PM
I grew up learning that with the Texas public school curriculum in the 1970s. Everything old is new again.

You know, those scrappy Texians who just wanted freedom and liberty like all good Americans living in someone else's country.

Slavery, uh.......never came up in the Texas story.

Texians? Does he mean those immigrant settlers who refused to assimilate?

Huh.

The existence of Texans, Texians, and Tejanos (all different meanings) implies the existence of Texites, Texish, and Texers
June 20, 2026 at 5:07 AM
Yeah that was not part of Mr B's 7th grade Texas history class in Lubbock.
He also did not tell us that the real reason Texians wanted independence from Mexico was because Mexico had outlawed slavery and the Texians wanted to keep their slaves.

Texans were originally Texians. I’m not sure when they switched.
