First book of the hols and, predictably, I’m completely floored by #thethingsweneversay, the latest novel by #elizabethstrout. Dare I say it’s the best of her stellar oeuvre? Yes, I jolly well do! Stupendous!

Liz Stroud's Tell Me Everything is OK. But with her new #TheThingsWeNeverSay shortlisted for the #BookerPrize I have to ask: Why do the same authors get accolades over+over, while some #Greatbooks are ignored. It upsets me. #writingcommunity #books #politicallyincorrect

I’ve read almost all @lizstrout.bsky.social novels and am very familiar with her characters, so it’s lovely to have some new ones in #TheThingsWeNeverSay
Artie Dam is fascinating and the novel is both heartbreaking and uplifting. (And more directly political)

#6 #BookerPrize longlist

Man, this hit my outlook anxiety. I’m still feeling it.

Strout’s layering. Artie Dam finds his safest assumptions undermined - by maga and by personal secrets.

Er, ever do this?
I wish I could pretend it was deliberate, but …
However, it was wonderful. Quietly devastating. 🩷
