Meet Reep-Jeep(or RJ for short), an exile from the main Yehat homeworlds. He was exiled because he was born with a malformed wing... which is unfair, because he is rather young, but has the heart of a warrior. He went to Beta Wolf to find refuge in a place that accepts exiles, and he fit right in. He is (nearly)unshakable.

Tried something different with this particular piece: color only background. I imagine that a Melnorme ghost would take on the color they’re named after. In the case of Lavender’s dearly departed mother, Rose-Red, a rosy shade of red. Apart from adoring her daughter’s handiwork and being proud of her, what is Rose-Red’s ghost doing here? Surely, she has something important to say, right?

A redraw of my very first drawing of this big boy from 2023. Because of a roleplay I was a part of last night, it compelled me to want to draw Rusty again after some time. Because I love this fancharacter and actually missed him. Rusty-Red is both an anomaly amongst the Melnorme species, and a bit of a celebrity. The former because he became notable for having a rare genetic that tripled his bodily mass(alongside "long-pod", making his frontal pods resemble arms). The latter because of an interview by the Interstellar University of Sciences, giving him notoriety and the nickname "The Giant of Beta Wolf". And why Beta Wolf? Because he resided there as a refugee(scarcely escaping his birthplanet during a planetary collapse) and the other refugees profoundly respected him as a unique individual. He HAS taken training in Trade Mastery, but for an undisclosed reason, the Trade Master he was training with had a fit, saying Rusty would be "completely unfit to be a Trade Master". Although no reason was provided, he's pretty sure he knows the reason why he was told this. But that's okay, because he is currently seeking work in mining. With how strong he is, it suits him well. He is usually cheerful, sweet, bashful, emotional(to a fault), emotionally sensitive and something of a crybaby.

Lavender and her son Sage-Green. When Lavender felt better, she quickly got to work on making things that would help keep her son close by at all times, while also allowing her to return to work as soon as she recovered. She's taken being a first-time parent very, very seriously. This would explain the carrier that she would wear to carry her son around. Whenever she got mad, Sage would hide himself in the carrier to block out his mother's yelling(when she got mad at her underlings), then come back out when she lowered her voice. Lavender's carrying a fuel cell for one of her devices, in case you're wondering what she's got.

My Melnorme fancharacter, Inventor Lavender dressed in a custom-fitted kimono. Now, how would a Melnorme get a kimono, isn't that something from Earth. Yes, but she has a sister-in-law(named Julep) who is a tailor, so she's probably the one who made this special. As to WHY Lavender would wear this? Rusty and Penny have a minor “rivalry” between them, but that’s for a good reason: Penny used to be a part of a rather vicious group of space pirates. What Rusty has not come to acknowledge(yet) is that the rest of that pirate crew is dead and Penny’s the only remaining member of that crew left. But hold on, how does Rusty know Penny was a part of that pirate crew?? It turns out that Beta Wolf was actually pilfered by that pirate crew, but he never saw Penny in the group that robbed the village of valuable goods. So Penny has to remind Rusty that she’s no longer a pirate and that she has come to regret being that way from when she was a rather young woman. Penny does tease Rusty, but this is (semi)friendly teasing, but Rusty does NOT like it when Penny does this!

An Ilwrath fancharacter of mine named Saffron. I names her Saffron, mainly because there was another Ilwrath Captain named Taragon, the name of an herb I knew of. So why not give her the name of another herb that sounds Ilwrath-ish? This particular Ilwrath was elusive all the years that the Ur-Quan war took place, having fled her homeworld before the Ilwrath fell for the voices of “Dogar and Kazon”(which were actually the Umgah using a ‘caster to imitate the Ilwraths’ gods). Saffron knew this was a ruse(because who LAUGHS after making a command?), so she fled, using the excuse of “spreading the word” across the galaxy. She reappeared once the Alliance of Free Stars liberated the slave-shielded worlds. She remembers every detail of these events very, very clearly. I used a few creative liberties when designing an elderly Ilwrath High Priestess, such as the lightening of her spider hairs and a fancier top. With the additional flair such as the see-through skirt.

First fully-colored piece after a while! Rusty's daughter, Pearl has grown up very fond of water... swimming even! She won first place in a 150-meter swim, thanks to lots of practice! She now has her very own exploration team for missions underwater, which usually doesn't require special equipment(unless for deep-sea exploration). On the 23rd of March, I lost a beloved family pet, so naturally, I had artblock as a result. I feel a lot better, now that I have had time to grieve, pray and so on. So tomake up for the artblock I’ve had since the 23rd, have a quickie of Rusty. He’s enjoying a seafood rice platter(as much as Rusty likes spicy food, this platter is not spicy), and a seafood pizza. Big guys like him have to eat!

Banker Pearl and her husband Taupe. Taupe was originally born conjoined to his long since deceased brother Chestnut. Separation from Chestnut resulted in stunting Taupe’s growth, but at least he survived the many therapies that allowed him to live a healthy life! He and Pearl met in school as children and Taupe was immediately smitten by Pearl. She was the most incredible thing he had ever, not only because of her tripled body proportion, but also the way she was able to swim. Ever since they met eyes, the two were inseparable, to the point of getting married.

A handmade plush of my Melnorme fancharacter, Lavender. She's made with various materials that I reclaimed, mostly articles of clothing that either do not fit or are unwanted. So it's hard to say EXACTLY what materials she's made of, lol. Additional notes: No sewing machine was used in the creation of this plush, it's ALL sewn by hand! I also did NOT use or even MAKE patterns for this plush either, because when my mind's set to making a plush like this, I usually have a good idea of how it'll turn out when it's finished. Second photo, this time a close up(include my hand for scale). You can see the additional embroidery I did for the eye, mouth and freckles. As always, embroidering the freckles was a HUGE pain in the neck! But I AM happy with how the embroidery of the teeth and around the eye turned out.

On an Isel homeworld, the Junk Heap visits a Historical Cavern to read a vital piece of information. With the Isels' permission, they record the history written on one of their History Crystals, translated by their guide. This history, about a star system called "Brimstone" ended up being populated by species who have a strong affinity for burning hot worlds. This also reveals an interesting piece of information on why the Mycon have been fewer in numbers(during the Starship Junk Heap timeline, 100 years after the Sa-Matra was destroyed): Something the Isel took part in called "Operation Ice Age".

Lavender grew up with the deep fear of monkeys(not primates, like chimps) due to an incident that took place when she was eight years of age. During a family visit to a traveling menagerie, Lavender was bitten by a sick macaque and got extremely ill as a result. Of course, Lavender's parents and twin brother were infuriated by this occurring due to negligence by an attendant. So as a result, this landed Lavender in the hospital for a solid month, as the infection from the macaque bite tended to make the poor girl fluctuate from feeling well enough to take on her daily allotment of lessons, to feeling so sick she couldn't concentrate. During this one-month stay, she had a near-perpetual streak of nightmares about rabid monkeys jumping to bite her more, so these lessons and frequent visits from family were what temporarily led her away from these nightmares, which Lavender still remembers today. She grew up with this fear of monkeys deeply ingrained in her, because of an incident that could have easily been noted and contained, had it not been for a negligent animal attendant. Fortunately, her family got their much-needed compensation from the attendant and the owner of the menagerie.

Captain Madolyn Michael, daughter of Captain John Michael and Syreen Penelope. Madolyn(or just Maddy) takes over her father’s role with no small amount of pride. Rusty-Red(Melnorme with tripolomassia), Beeb'Ob(Umgah), Sergeant Plibnik(Spathi), Patinzo(Wolpertinger-like fan species of mine, the Isel) and Mugsy(another fan species, the bio-floral Mosch), grouped together, possibly greeting a client. Since these friends have grown attached over the course of the time they worked together, they assumed the name the "Cargo Bay Boys", because of their line of work in cargo moving. Rusty's tripled body mass helped him become quite possibly, one of the universe's strongest Melnorme, while Patinzo(named because of his tin-gray coloration) is also New Isella's strongest Isel. Beeb'Ob and Plibnik's jobs are to ensure that there is no missing cargo stolen by others they are delivering their cargo of refines metals and other valuable resource units. Mugsy is typically close by, because Mosch are natural power generators and, if wearing it, powers a suit Rusty wears sometimes, either to enter planets without air, high pressure or extreme temperatures. One thing they have in common; They're very friendly and always greet their clients.

Lavender had no idea that she had to "babysit" some young ZFP(Zoq-Fot-Pik), so for their own protection, she encased them in stasis bubbles. This is the safest of Lavender's inventions, as the solution induces an effect like stasis. Popping the bubbles releases the encased from their temporary stasis, only these doe not come with the usual grogginess of stepping out of a stasis chamber. Rusty's genealogist father, Carmine, had the terrible tendency to be extra-clumsy when he has to get something in a rush. Especially when Rusty was a baby. This time, he had forgotten that Rusty's milk bottle was right beside him and he knocked it over looking for it. This has happened more times than even Scarlet(Rusty's mother) would have liked. Whenever VIV got sick with a "VUX-cold"(a common illness which causes the VUX's proboscis to swell to the point where speech becomes difficult), Rusty stayed by the old VUX's side until she got better. It's the least he can do to repay her back for her kindness.

Former Luyten Empire Queen, VIV, has had some trouble getting to sleep at night. So she huddles up with Rusty, who she feels safe and comfortable with. Knowing him, Rusty would protect the kind old VUX at call costs. Former Queen VIV was once a respected Queen of the Luyten Empire. But upon announcing that the VUX were to collaborate with humans as part of the terms made after the Ur-Quan Hierarchy fell, VIV had fled to keep from being attacked by outraged VUX. Regardless of the outrage, the VUX reluctantly accepted this new rule, yet VIV wished to live in peace and quiet, somewhere far, far away from the hustle and bustle of the Luyten Empire. Unlike most VUX who are repulsed at the sight of humans, she respects them(but not in the way that a certain Admiral did). She is very kind and pure of heart, but can be a bit strict when it comes to things getting out of hand. Even if she's somewhere quiet and obscure, she still deeply fears the universe outside Beta Wolf, but with Rusty-Red living in her home, she feels much more secure. Even more, because he has grown stronger. As a way to symbolize the purity of her heart, VIV often wears white or light gray.
