Hello people who keep telling me they will get robots to do it in the US: I promise you if Apple was capable of designing precision tooling engineers that were the equivalent of a human being, they would simply do that, because precision tooling engineers are not cheap, even in China.

I’ve been saying for a while the reason China is winning in manufacturing is that their tooling industry is broad (basically tools for any kinda thing you want to make/install), deep (you want ten thousand units? No problem), and high quality. American tooling just kinda sucks now!
