#torylight
Great analysis. @labouruk.bsky.social really need to put forward (and act on) bold new policies if they are not to be considered irrelevant. I don’t like the #labourlight approach and certainly did not vote for a #torylight approach
“Voters aren’t turning to Reform and the Greens because they’re becoming ‘extreme’. They’re, fairly, concluding that the mainstream offer is managed decline and they’d rather roll the dice. The answer is to put forward something genuinely bolder that really changes things for them.”

They also have on eye permanently fixed on future employment, future positions of power, and current & future earnings.

Their preference in any election would be Reform, Tories, Labour(torylight), Lib dems (if they are in a corner) and Greens now and again because they need to keep the lefties out.

"I've heard a lot of traditional Green Party members are #ToryLight" but have no evidence = Not helpful We share so much
I signed up - and have since become heavily disillusioned and have stayed w the Green Party

And a whole bunch of Reform supporters I know signed up to make sure it failed...

so I'm not sure the 850k was really representative

And the more it turns inwards, the less useful it seems

Problem is that the “change” was never really defined so, strictly speaking, they have fulfilled their promise. Everyone should have realised that things like imposing candidates for seats with the local party having literally no say wasn’t going to lead anywhere but #ToryLight

Anyone have any idea why you would vote for #ToryLight like this? #BlueLabour. You know what's holding us back. the rich not being quite rich enough, apparently.
Cutting "red tape" (aka public protections), as Reeves is doing, does not save money. Instead, it transfers costs from the rich to the poor. Other people pay for financial recklessness, filthy rivers, air pollution, lax building standards and consumer rip-offs.

If you're on the left, you cannot reward Starmer's Torylight/Torylike Labour.

Vote Green or independent.
May 17, 2025 at 6:35 AM
And what is the point of a blue Labour? That's an oxymoron and anyone on the left or with left sensibilities would need to stop excusing Starmer's Torylight Labour.

The moment he backstabbed Corbyn's principles, he told us who he was. And he's been showing us how much worse he is ever since he won.
May 12, 2025 at 5:54 PM
The Guardian's headline is also dismal. This paper also manufacturers consent for this racist nonsense.
Starmer is agreeing with Reform. This is no "Challenge to Reform".

Vote Starmer's Torylight going to Reformlight Labour out.
Vote Independents or the Green party.
Vote for positive change.

Labour under Corbyn did.

New Labour and Torylight Labour have not made the argument.

What is the point of Starmer's Torylight Labour party?

Vote them out.
Vote independent or the Green party.

Everyone on the left needs to stop enabling Starmer's Torylight Labour and move for alternatives that align with your values, find independents or the Green party.

I strongly recommend listening to the wonderful Zack Polanski on this great interview:

And amplify independent voices and other parties like the Greens.

Be more critical with Starmer's Torylight Labour which nobody on the left should be made to vote as the alternative to Farage and/or the Tories.

Be the clear headed unflinching left wing paper you once were.
May 8, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I'd encouraged to check the Greens. They are a good choice for people on the left. Anyone wanting to leave Starmer's Torylight Labour, check Zack Polanski:

Maybe they're doing an OK job? Torylight just isn't convincing middle England and they're not racist enough for the red wall seats. The mistakes are presentation, Employer's NI and winter fuel, (which I actually agree with) together with the appearance of sticking to May's red lines on Brexit.
May 5, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Starmer's Torylight Labour will not do this.
Voters need to find courage to move away from the 2 party farce.

Look at the policies of the Green party, see how much they align with a left vision.
Vote for Greens or independent candidates wanting the meaningful change we need.
We are many.....
May 3, 2025 at 10:55 AM
There are better alternatives than Starmer. Don't ask people to settle for not the worst option.
Starmer Torylight Labour is not a good option.

Corbyn had all media and the Torylight Labour machine working against him winning, Starmer included. They worked so that Johnson would win.

Any chance of anyone pressing the reset button after these results?
Torylight doesn't seem to be winning votes.
May 2, 2025 at 4:53 AM
And why are the Greens and their policies not platformed & discussed more often in the media? Anyone looking at their policies and their voting track records can see they are the most progressive party. Give them exposure and encourage people to have the courage to leave Starmer's Torylight Labour.
April 22, 2025 at 8:27 AM
All progressive left people need to vote either independents or the Green party. Those are the left alternatives in the UK. Voting labour will only tell them their game: now Tories, now Torylight Labour, repeat.
If we want change, we need to vote change.

There was a time when I would never have believed this even from a right wing Tory the share arrogance of these #torylight people like Torsten Bell c1982 Grow up #labour
#Liebour #RedTory parasites and their lies, fraud, corruption and cuts! A party devoid of humanity and Torsen is a flown in Westminster parasite
£5 billion of cuts to welfare will only make the poorest in our society worse off. Wales will be hit particularly hard by the cuts, but Welsh Labour MPs are completely out of touch with our communities.

It’s time for this Government to remember its promise of ‘change’ and offer hope, not misery.

Not even #torylight but full fat under #sirkidstarver
Telling someone who cannot work that you are reducing their benefits is not an incentive to work. It's state-sponsored cruelty which, quite probably, will be a death sentence for some.

Starmer and Reeves appear determined to make Cameron and Osbourne look benevolent.
