I really wish Apple sold a standalone TouchID button. I know there's that crazy hack where you can rip apart a keyboard and just use the TouchID button, but that's nuts. Just give us the button so we can use TouchID with our own mechanical keyboards!

an unfortunate reality is that most people will not follow all of the proper safety measures today.
so, at the very least, please:
- DO bring water
- DO disable biometrics (FaceID, TouchID, etc) on your phone
- DO NOT take pictures of other people
- DO NOT sit down
- DO NOT talk to cops

Here are some thoughts about protests:
- "NoKings" is not the kind of protest you need to do serious opsec for. The mass of boring liberals will protect you. You can take your phone, but TURN OFF FACEID AND TOUCHID. If you're still worried, wear your normal facemask (you're still masking, right?).

Wir mussten letztens feststellen, dass TouchID nur mit Kreislauf funktioniert. Richtet euren Angehörigen, wenn sie das selber nicht können oder nicht wissen wie das geht, doch den Notfallpass auf dem Smartphone ein.

The FBI was able to access Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson's Signal messages because she used Signal on her work laptop. The laptop accepted Touch ID for authentication, meaning the agents were allowed to require her to unlock it. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

to unlock the phone at this point, you'll need to enter your phone's passcode. faceID and touchID won't work until you unlock your phone again.
