Prepping for Touratech Rally West
Sunset from my campsite at Canyonlands NP, UT in 2019. Next week is the 2025 Touratech Rally held in Plain, WA which is about 550 miles north from my home in Mt. Shasta. It will be my first time attending and I'm super stoked about it. They'll have ADV rides for all different skill levels, demo rides, food trucks, vendors, talks, and skills training classes.

Getting stoked for the Touratech Rally next week! Did a blog post on the prepping and packing for it.
Can‘t recommend this cheap GPS bar for the #vstrom which I found on Aliexpress. At least when mounting a slightly heavier unit (Zumo in a Touratech anti-theft cradle), the two vertical struts are too soft. This makes the GPS vibrate like crazy, very annoying.

Touratech West this year added Zero. Excited to ride their little dirt bike on the onsite trail. Next up though is the CFMoto Papio on the street route

At a bike show years ago & one hall was devoted to ‘adventure’ bikes. Everything you absolutely had to have if you were serious. All Touratech gadgetry & huge BMWs. Elsewhere were the folk who’d actually done round-the-world type trips. Nothing larger than 500cc.

With over 22 hours of riding, 737 miles traveled, and 39 of 48 stops across 2 of 3 states, I’m proud to say that I won 1st place in the Touratech DirtDaze adventure challenge! It was such an amazing experience and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to do it!

Super fun time again at the Touratech rally this weekend in Plain. Got to drive 11 new motorcycles. 4 with amber on. She drove off road twice! Drove some beautiful roads. Spent some time in Leavenworth. Just a fantastic weekend.

Mine’s not a Dakar - 19” front wheel - but I have upgraded the fork with Touratech progressive springs, and they make a huge difference, esp in the rougher stuff.
