That one typeface every single AI generated poster uses makes them all look like fliers for a horror film festival

once you see the AI typeface you never unsee it
Trump's Justice Department announced it is sending about 1,000 "election monitors" to polling places in all 50 states

@nytimes.com typeface as expected.

Think they picked Sabrina Tavernise because Pamela Paul's still crying in the bathroom.
nice, first "not a mandate" sighting

Immerse yourself in books, fill the place up right to the top with bound volumes, paperbacks and pamphlets, til you're drowning and forced to breathe pages and typeface, glue and booklice, and the silverfish have set up nest in your shoes.

it feels coo coo bonkers to look at data in this typeface
Three more days in Texas as well!

I'll keep including 2022 ofc but I don't think it's a particularly helpful baseline right now, bc if turnout followed the 2022 path, every single one of these counties would exceed 2024's total turnout

This has happened already. Five hundred years of typography has been consolidated and financialised under Monotype and Adobe, and largely destroyed. It is a very substantial problem and why I celebrate independent typeface design as our only viable future.

Entered a fugue state and made new neofetch ascii art (based off aa.mozz.us/utf8art/anim..., painstakingly recreated with this typeface+character set)

I’m wet at the proper use of “typeface” instead of font.

I lost count of the number of times I spotted a book was out of place *because the typeface was wrong* - and in a couple of instances, "typed on the wrong typewriter."

sometimes, you add a word, sometimes you rearrange a sentence, maybe you make the text box 3 picas wider, size the font down a hair, maybe you try a different typeface, so many choices

amazing typeface and colour combo work!

Then why does this look like a subway car, instead of a Peter Witt, and why is the typeface some vague attempt to evoke the 1950s TTC face?

At the South Bank for #Blakes7! The typeface Egyptian Italic was made by Maurice Ward for the 1951 Festival of Britain. This classic, pub-front-style 3D variant is just called Festive 🎉

the sexiest thing you can be to me is an angled axis in a letterform indicating an old style/transitional typeface

It's a very catchy typeface design. The spine really stands out.

Never mind about the name: it’s true, this is probably intended to look like a 1920s Peter Witt, but shaped like a subway car and with a modernist sansserif typeface (????)
