Seriously. I studied AI during my Masters Degree & my PhD. I taught units on it in my upper division grad Ubicomp & HCI classes. I don't hate & fear LLMs from a position of ignorance. I hate & fear them because one of my specific areas of expertise is analyzing the impact of new tech on society.

This (ics.uci.edu/~gmark/extre...) was one of the papers that sparked my PhD work, I loved the ubicomp/calm computing/peripheral information awareness concepts. LLMs might make that vision really possible.
