CEO of Uisce Éireann (IRISH WATER) GOT an INCREASE of €118,OOO yet our public servants have to go on strike to try to keep up with inflation!

Happens in Ireland that way. Uisce Eireann responsible for both water and wastewater and, if anything, it holds up housing because a big central body is now responsible for connecting sewage lines to new developments, and they have limited capacity.

Anyone who doesn’t accept that the FF-FG permanent coalition have packaged water services up with a bow as ‘Uisce Éireann’ in anticipation of a future privatisation excuse is deluding themselves. Labour Party were up to their necks in this farce as well, as are right wing of the Greens #spéirgorm
Privatisation of water has been an absolutely unmitigated disaster. The Green Party would put water back into public hands and reverse years of radical underinvestment.

Tá an Gaeilge aisteach mar wdm “to swim” is ‘snámh”? Like cé a fheiceann duine san uisce agus síleann, “ah, tá! An fhuaim is fearr chuige seo ná: SNAV”??? Cén fáth? Somebody explain this etymology to me…. 🤨🧐😆
