We used to have better swim teaching and facilities in England. In 2010 we had 500 more swimming pools than we did in 2025, and the biggest losses have occurred in areas with high deprivation.

Participation in gyms and fitness among #ChildrenAndYoungPeople (CYP) has grown by 12% over 6 years, with 1.7m young people now taking part.
