It’s still warm enough for grass to germinate, so with all the rain we’re now getting the lawn repairs are going full speed.

Bulb planting in the lawns begins on Monday, so today I was out cutting the grass relevantly short to make that easier.

Welcome November 🍂

We still have roses flowering. Rose of the Year 2024, 'Meteor', has colours that are reactive to UV light; the intense molten colours of high summer give way to mellow tones, perfectly reflecting the season.

It’s all about bulb planting this month. I’ve got to finish planting a few at my allotment, but we’ve got over 60,000 to plant at work 😂

It’s been a funny and unpredictable year. Due to the dry weather, I’ve only just been able to dig over one of my #Allotment beds to plant our winter onions. This year we are growing Senshyu Yellow and Red Baron.

A little harvest of kale. leeks, carrots and a beetroot from the allotment today.
We like our carrots chonky, like these Chantenays, it makes them easy to pull out from our heavy clay soil.
I'm not sure why there's a random yellow one, I guess there's some reversion thing going on.

Carving pumpkins.

Building a wood store.

A walk with Moel Offrwm glowing red in the setting sun.

Making green tomato and apple chutney.

More like that please.

A beautiful weekend. I got out in the garden and did stuff. Which was lovely.

Clearing the corn, planting garlic in that bed, closely supervised by Cedric, the resident robin.

Clearing the level outside the bathroom window and planting bulbs...

BLOOM! The ever so late Cosmos is finally experiencing a big bang.

Chilly mornings ahead, but the weather's fine for the weekend. Hopefully it'll get to put on its show.

It was almost frosty first thing this morning. It soon warmed up, with some beautiful light pouring through the colourful, slowly falling leaves.

I was trimming a long hedge, so the woolly hat and jumper weren't needed for long.

Happy Saturday 🌞

X is for Xerochrysum Bracteatum.

Commonly known as the Strawflower.

I started growing these because I wanted something low-maintenance that actually lasts, and wow, they deliver. Just full sun and good drainage.

Happy Gardening everyone 🇬🇧🌱

Happy Friday 🌞

W is for Watering Cans.

It might be one of the simplest tools in the garden, but it's a true hero when it comes to keeping our flowers blooming & our plants happy!

Like if you love spending time in your garden!

Plenty of flowers on new planting, great for clients. They get a glimpse of how the garden will look in time. Budget changes = small plants but warm soil will allow good establishment

Soft purples, blues, pinks, plums and whites are the predominant colours
