It would be nice if push notification apps would support UnifiedPush. So for example, you wouldn't have to set up an ntfy server, and have 2 apps for UnifiedPush, and could just use your existing UnifiedPush server

After a full conference season of talking about #unifiedpush, I’m now preparing a talk on XMPP again. I haven’t presented on XMPP in a while because I didn’t feel like a lot was happening. That’s changing now.

Après cette dernière phrase concerne d’autres applications (Fedilab, Tusky, Moshidon...) qui peuvent désormais utiliser également ce mode push qui ne passe plus par Google (versions F-Droid de ces applications).

A common reason people end up with poor battery life is Signal's WebSocket push due to not using Play services for FCM. It works but is inefficient. A better option is the Molly fork of Signal with MollySocket for UnifiedPush. Signal's WebSocket push could be far more efficient but it is what it is.
