i dont think you should cause it'd take ages. if you have an ntfs partition on the linux host and make it where that file resides, you can just let the vm access that file just fine. there are a couple of ways to do that but i don't have virtmanager installed here.

Last night I experimented with KVM and VirtManager. With the exception of not being able to figure out resizeable drive images without the CLI I think I'm most of the way to being able to replace VirtualBox as my emulation environment. #programming

Thank you! That gives me a much better idea what magic phrase to look for.

And yes, KVM/libvirt and qemu are definitely what's behind virtmanager or it seems nearly anything VM-ish on Linux.

Six months ago I started exploring Linux as a daily driver. I'm like a kid in a candy store now though. There are so many O.S. options within Linux! I use Mint regularly, but then run virtual machines mostly using VirtManager to try out different distributions. I'm fascinated by all the options.

QEMU/KVM, slight hiccup on setup
I was setting up QEMU with KVM and virtmanager today and I had a slight hiccup on the setup. I'm on runit and while it mentioned that libvirtd had to be setup as a service, it didn't mention libvirtlogd or libvirtlockd which are both necessary for it...
