I have had my Volla Phone for exactly one year now. I bought it with Ubuntu Touch, then switched to Volla OS, a Google-free Android, and now back to Ubuntu Touch. I am very happy with it.

I have had my Volla Phone for exactly one year now. I bought it with Ubuntu Touch, then switched to Volla OS, a Google-free Android, and now back to Ubuntu Touch. I am very happy with it.

The Volla Phone Plinius is a smartphone with a 6.67 inch, 2400 x 1080 pixel, 120 Hz OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, and a semi-rugged design. It's also the latest in a line of phones from Volla that ship with a choice of two different operating systems: a Google-free version of Android called Volla OS or the Linux-based Ubuntu Touch operating system. The company started taking pre-orders earlier this year and says that the phone is now shipping to customers who opted for an entry-level model. The Volla Phone Plinius Plus should begin shipping in June.

GrapheneOS heeft strenge sandboxing. Ze gaan er prat op veilig te zijn. Je zit dan wel aan een Google Pixel vast.
Vollaphone is ook veilig. Sailfish heeft nog moeite met sandboxing.

I use Sailfish and a Vollaphone only with open source apps. Open source does not mean secure. Only when every app/game is controlled by an independent board there is some guarantee.

The duopoly Google/Apple is hard to beat. Nokia lost against them and we are still waiting for a good European alternative.
Jolla's Sailfish OS (to be flashed on a Sony) is beautiful but not stable enough and not for everyone.

Not sure of that. Using Sailfish and Vollaphone, experience with Murena, have no Google account, I must say that open source is fine, but a responsible, accountable company/board is necessary.

For about 10 years Jolla Sailfish was my daily device, still use it. It's the most beautiful and intuitive system I know, yet a bit buggy. Then I had /e/OS shortly and now my sim is in a Vollaphone 22. This phone functions very well as I am used to F-Droid and Aurora store for tracking free apps.
