The area around Bardwell is heavily keepered, but good to see plenty of raptors about: Marsh Harrier, Common Buzzard & Red Kite. Also Roe Deer feeding in a headland.

Privilege to meet, in the Little Ouse downstream of Brandon Staunch, not only several Brown Trout parr - a reminder that this River is a chalk stream, but also this mighty European Perch, among the abundant Common Roach. #MySwim #Rivers #Fish #TeamFish #FishSky #Suffolk #WestSuffolk 🧵 1/14

More unidentified agarics at Deadman's Grave... another infundibuliform fungus, a fibrillose one, a couple with emarginate gills and one on dung. Any help welcome with identification.

Besides the Gudgeon, Minnows and baby Perch that enjoy the new Environment Agency/BFER #fish pass to help trout migration on the River Lark at Turf Lock, Mildenhall, there was also a Grey Wagtail very much at home, here having caught a worm. #WestSuffolk #Suffolk #BirdsSeenIn2025 #chalkstreams 6/17

My favourite photo of the week. I visited Jubilee Farm today for some recordings for the show tomorrow on www.suffolksound.com. Chickens will be making an appearance and yes I was henpecked. 🙂🐓

Also huge swarms of Roach fry in the River Lark upstream of Isleham Marina. Again the bigger ones were all in the sweet spot under overhanging willows. They were less inquisitive about me than the Perch. Only saw a few Rudd. #Rivers #Fish #Fishsky #Suffolk #WestSuffolk #Cambridgeshire #Teamfish 3/14
