Some of these are special interest so they might not appeal but: foundpaper, grandmaspantry, bottledigging, seaglass and rockhounds, whatisthisthing, helpmefind, girldinnerdiaries if you want random goss/tea, gardening and nolawns, and bald for the consistently good vibes.

I love getting the same vibe from a pic of someone holding a snail shell as you get seeing a post on r/whatisthisthing of someone showing off a WWII bomb they dug up in their garden.

The unexploded ordnance of the tide pool.
Hi, it's me. Your idiot friend from the internet who had no idea that the snail that made that big shell could have killed me if it was home. You're not really supposed to pick them up to admire them. 🌠 #TheMoreYouKnow
Well, the tide never receded quite enough for the land bridge to the monkey Island to form, but look at all these beautiful seashells

I found a small aluminum one of those things in a box of stuff I got at an auction. I went on reddit (r/whatisthisthing) to ask what it was used for, and the fuckers banned me.

decided a decade ago that it wasn’t worth maintaining an account: I thought it wasn’t as worthless as Facebook (which is only saved imo by Facebook marketplace — ymmv!) but it was close enough to be disregarded, almost entirely

I still visit r/whatisthisthing, but that’s about it

Loathe to endorse it but subreddits like r/whatisthisthing can be genuinely amazing at identifying stuff like this

Oh sure every so often you get r/whatisthisthing to get a quick answer. But like, r/rpg? Nah. There are no creatives there. No developers.

Reddit's "macro" communities were always kinda that way though. No one goes to r/music for THEIR music, just GENERAL music news.

The building where my partner's studio is has this next to all the fire Alan panels. It looks like in the event of a fire all the first responders get presents. #whatisthisthing

www.reddit.com/r/whatisthis... I did find out thanks to a friend what these holes are for, but sad about the mic part. He's still SUPER cute tho
From the whatisthisthing community on Reddit: What are these holes for in these poseable toys?

I’ve probably just seen too many Reddit whatisthisthing posts to only see something that is—uh—I guess not entirely unconnected to toddlers.

And to ask you to wash your hands

Oooo! Via r/whatisthisthing I am diving down a Monument for Fishes, Sydney, Australia rabbit(fish) hole.

Seriously, do not underestimate how many social experiments I would run with unlimited cash.

Make physical objects that don't resemble anything common. Leave them out in public to be found by normal people. Observe! They'll probably post in r/WhatIsThisThing but it will be FUTILE, HAHAHA

You know how kids and dogs are drawn to the most dangerous thing in any given household? I swear that's redditors on /r/whatisthisthing and unexploded ordnance.
