cheeeeeeese

if you're in Norfolk, I recommend checking our Mrs Temple's cheeses, especially Gurnety's Gold and Wighton. You can get the from the Cheeseman on Norwich market.
Okay I think you are ready for this BlueSky. Let's talk cheese history.

More specifically, Yorkshire Dales cheeses, and how WW2 and rationing almost wiped out cheesemaking in northern Britain.

This is the story of the near-death of the world of one of the world's great cheeses: Wensleydale. /1 🧵

Warham Camp Fort is located between the villages of Warham and Wighton. It is a large and well-preserved Iron Age fort where previous excavations in 1914 & 1959 produced evidence for timber palisade and Iron Age and Roman pottery.

Calogaya pusilla, or Caloplaca saxicola in old money, putting on a show at Wighton church today. One of the very few species that grows on the glassy surface of broken flint cobbles.

We decided on a walk to Wighton this morning, then extended it to Warham Camp. In the air we saw good numbers of Brent and Pink-footed Geese, and Lapwings. Spotted on the return trip, this delightful pair of Egyptian Geese.

Wighton, All Saints, north Norfolk. In 1965 the west face of the tower collapsed. In 1976 reconstruction was complete thanks to the generosity of a Canadian businessman, Leeds Richardson, who paid for the work #history #heritage #architecture #norfolk #churches #medieval #canada #tower #benefactor

Fair enjoyed seeing the brilliant Paddy Buchanan Band at the Wighton Centre in Dundee earlier. Bothy Ballads with rhythm and soul and attitude. Great to see the tradition made new once again. Superb.

Would love to see what Cathro could get out of Craig Wighton as Hearts manager

Unfinished business
While Austin MacPhee is to assist Roberto Martinez with the Portuguese national team, Ian Cathro has won the Liga Portugal manager of the month.

The former Hearts head coach had a 100 per cent record with Estoril - and won his last five.

Been to a big art show in Wighton church, North Norfolk Projects, curated by Chris Bailkowski, which is vastly diverse and interesting.
And across the road is a former residence of Henry Moore, where some years ago, they dug this up in the garden.
