Our photograph captures a striking old brick windmill in Selsey, West Sussex, during the late afternoon of a winter’s walk. Viewed from below, the windmill rises majestically against a deep, vivid blue sky, its towering structure creating a wonderful contrast between warm, earthy colours and the cool tones of the evening sky. The windmill’s broad, tapering tower is built from weathered red and brown bricks, glowing with rich orange and copper tones where the low winter sunlight falls across its surface.
