WITCHWARD is an Odyssey riff, and this is the beginning of the chapter with the sirens, immediately following a Circe/Lotus Eaters mash up where the cat nearly gets turned into a pig. He has THOUGHTS about that, which gives us one of my favorite exchanges in the whole book:
