When we bridge AP, Article Activity Streams types will fully bridge over to standard.site. Blogging platforms like WordPress, WriteAs/WriteFreely, and Ghost all support AP with Bridgy Fed, so all of those will be available across standard.site readers.

but I chose WriteAs in the end because it *can't* collect that kind of data from readers *and* because it allows for RSS feeds, and it doesn't have web tracking.

As far as I am concerned, I have successfully migrated my blog from writeas to ghost and that's one less expense for me and a lot tidier internet presence

Not in this atmosphere, not in this political climate! WriteAs is privacy focused, and no tracking or analytic add-ons are even available. We can see how many views a post gets, but we don't see IP addresses, browser data, etc. Dax uses WriteAs for their personal blog for the same reason.

Privacy focused blogging software. It's what I host my blog on and also queerbooksweekly. They aren't free but they are reasonable and they offer RSS so yeah. No genAI and I don't think they are likely to add it since they are all about privacy.

We care very much about reader privacy and author privacy. We specifically chose WriteAs to host this because it allows readers to opt-in to emails if they want.
