How are everyone's November writing challenges going?
My second day of Draftsgiving got me almost to 2K this month. What have you been writing? What's the last line you've written?

Reminder that AI can't follow plot for shit.

I just saw a scathing Kirkus review and the reviewer was able to instantly tell the thing was AI. The review came down to "Good concept, AI chatbot execution."

Yikes.

#WritersCoffeeClub Share an analogy that really stuck with you.

PHEW. I am hyper-editing this manuscript so I can sort of regather my senses in preparation for writing the next book in the series...and boy is this bad. 🤣 I know I knew what I was talking about when I wrote it, but that sense is looong gone. #writincommunity

Correct me if I'm wrong...vanity presses are now called "hybrid presses," and they're normalized and accepted.

The fastest rejection I ever received was a small press, and it was about 2-3 hours. What’s your fastest rejection? #WritinCommunity #amquerying #amwriting #amrevising

#Marchistics

For swords, iron ore and whatever materials are used for the grip, which can be anything from leather to wood to ivory.

#WritinCommunity #ReadingCommunity #WriteSky
Last in our setup #Marchistics questions but first in what we'll flesh out is about raw material that your intermediates are made of.

Continuing with examples would be like ingots being made of ore, sugar of cane or beets, and brackets of timber from special trees. Where does it come from?

Lev imagined himself as part of a blood clot being forced through throbbing, thickened veins. Black, dripping, viscus molasses. If only he could slice those veins open, escape this sluggish queue like a malformed blood cell spilled from the wound.

It's Monday!!

Welcome to Week 21 of #WIPSnips!

The word for today is "trait"

If you don't have the word itself or a synonym, there's always the option to share a snippet describing a trait a character has.

I feel wild with pain. Much harder to actually turn it into #writing. I have so many things in the work and I can't make progress on any of them

A challenge to writers: Post 1 sentence a day from any project for 2 days. No explanations.

Day 19:

“It was a steep price to pay, but my teacher saw his wish as something worth sacrificing his entire legacy for,” he said.

#WIPSnips Feb 4

Here in our kitchen was my wife in just her crop top, which as far as teasingly and housewife eroticism goes could probably only be trumped by either an apron or a sundress.

The #WIPSnips word for February 4th is "kitchen"

Are your characters cooking up anything good?
