i remembered another spot where you might find patterns. every yarn manufacturer has patterns. yarnspirations is the big u.s. budget yarn conglomerate and you can look for JUST amigurumi or whatever you want. they have cute cats too.

Yarnspirations has a lot of downloadable free patterns, so I second them. Other yarn sites also have patterns. I've come across toy mice patterns in how-to books, maybe available at your local library.
