#yondr
I talked to the CEO of Yondr (the magnetic phone pouches used in schools). What surprised me was how much he really eats his own dogfood -- he uses a flip phone himself and bans AI tools for his employees. He HATES social media! www.businessinsider.com/yondr-ceo-gr...
Yondr makes pouches for phone-free zones, like schools and concerts. Its CEO uses a flip phone.

is he in an unending comedy show where everyone's phones are in yondr bags? is he in hell? is he in a top secret bunker? is he in OUR IMAGINATIONS?

Phoebe Bridgers concert: awesome
Phoebe Bridgers concert with everyone’s phone in a Yondr bag: a complete game-changer, 10/10, would wholeheartedly recommend.

Would you go to a phone-free show?

Graham Dugoni invented Yondr pouches—which magnetically lock up phones during events like concerts and at schools—to encourage people to live more in the moment and wrestle our attention back from tech companies.

joycon would be about rights, restoration, and relatives.

the smaller attendance, higher trust, phones in yondr bags salon the night before would be about other stuff.
what could your bluesky-con be about that could draw 200 people

“darthcon” would have dogs to pet and fried potato dishes to sample
i think that if i organized a “Bouiecon” where people got together and, i don’t know, talked breakfast cereals and the constitution, i could get more than 200 people to show up

Principals re phone bans: We know what we need to do to keep them safe. Having kids text & do those things I’m not sure what that would add to that terrible event anyway

Parents: WE JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE IF OUR CHILD IS ABOUT TO DIE THAT THEY CAN SAY GOODBYE

April 28, 2026 at 4:31 PM
Idk, maybe dry January, or buying a boox palma, or reading 10,000 books in a year from the library, or putting your phone in a yondr bag after sundown will fix you

Or you could just get an xbox. They got like a zillion games on gamepass so you can play a different one every single day

We do Yondr pouches here. And it does work, to the extent of reducing the phone-first culture. But it’s only part of the solution

Schools are banning phones and buying Yondr pouches BEFORE we've addressed school shootings and guns?

Why am I not surprised with this country.
August 9, 2025 at 9:42 PM
Yes — there are designated phone use spaces where they'll unlock your phone if you need it, and Yondr bags are not total RFID blockers — your phone will buzz or vibrate if you get an alert.
