Does anyone have experience of seeking funding for community members conference attendance? I have three young co-researchers and we are always astonished by how quickly prices rack up for conference attendance, which often prohibits us attending #participatoryresearch #PPI #youthinvolvement

Are #YouthVoice / #YouthParticipation workers just seen as a way to get to young people?

Or are they seen as professionals with important knowledge & expertise in their own right?

And are these perspectives mutually exclusive, or inherently interrelated? 🤔

I often see participation misconstrued on both sides as “doing whatever the kids want.” Advocates reduce themselves within participation projects for fear of diluting youth voice and skeptics don’t bother for fear of opening up a can of worms. #youthparticipation
