And all the very best to you. The variety of tomatoes in UK compared with France is truly pathetic

I like tomatoes cut across and laid out flat on the plate, with olive or other oils and pepper over them. I especially like colza (ie rape seed) oil

PS they look lovely...

Chutney, salad if they taste ok

Should know but what happened next, poor sad Gurney...

Alfred the Great, king of the Anglo-Saxons, died #OTD 899. St Cuthbert appeared in a vision to the then king of the West Saxons as he sought refuge in the Somerset marshes, vowing he would defeat his foes. This he did at the Battle of Ethandune (Edington, Wiltshire) in 878. 📸CNG

No. Britain, as a former Member State, is still aligned with most EU rules. It is worth recalling that when Finland applied to join, negotiations took just 2 years, as it was similarly already aligned with much EU legislation through the EEA” labourlist.org/2026/10/imag...

JOY🎉 Vucic is defeated by student-backed protest movement.

Serbia greets a new dawn of democracy as Serbians have voted a resounding no to Putin's puppet. Tonight has been a night for democracy we all can celebrate.

Now on to Israel and the US, with a new hope to see democracy win there.
Supporters of Serbia's student-backed protest movement celebrate in the streets of Belgrade as veteran leader Aleksandar Vucic concedes defeat for his ruling party in snap elections.

The vote is the culmination of nearly two years of student-led protests
Absolutely FABULOUS news for all life on Earth, especially the Amazon rainforest!!!!

Despite the fascists playing every dirty, cheating trick in the book to steal this election, the people of Brazil saw through the lies.

So, so, happy and relieved this morning 🇧🇷 👏

Well done, Brazil! 👏
If @andyburnham.bsky.social had had any 'Labour' values, any 'left wing' policies - any sense at all of how the nation feels, he'd have come into office saying something similar.

Instead the UK has more neoliberalism, more policies influenced by big companies + foreign powers🤬

We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."

In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.
